VEDay80 at Ysgol Glan Gele
The VE day service this morning was magical, and the celebrations continued throughout the afternoon.
Parents and governors were invited to the morning service which was led and organised by Mrs James, teacher of the Koalas. After weeks of rehearsal the service was perfect, with the Koalas class singing 3 wartime songs and narrating the story of VE Day.
A sausage and mash lunch was followed by 3 sittings of afternoon tea, which was enjoyed by 220 children.
The Head Teacher, Mrs Cope, thanked Abergele Town Council for their grant support in her opening address, and the hand written grant application that came in from 7 year-old Elsie, Chair of the School Council, was read out loud, to great applause.
